I have been making that cake for years (It's a Christmas tradition.), but always feel slightly guilty about that 1 oz bottle of red dye I'm throwing in the batter!

Also, congrats on finally getting a new home! I was so envious when I read that you are going to have a sewing/craft room all to yourself--lucky girl!!! :)Carinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11218778081980581522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3678865064583539852.post-21537465145077243372008-06-16T13:11:00.000-07:002008-06-16T13:11:00.000-07:00Carina, I also made the "inside out sweet potatoes...Carina, I also made the "inside out sweet potatoes" which were really tasty (if extremely high calorie). Unfortunately, I made the error of trying to substitute canned sweet potatoes to save time. Don't try it. The mixture ends up too mushy. The Red Velvet cake (without food coloring) is up next for me.Kimberly Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12897181372044511961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3678865064583539852.post-53877854739535396662008-06-16T12:52:00.000-07:002008-06-16T12:52:00.000-07:00Thanks for the recipe link; it sounds yummy!!!Have...Thanks for the recipe link; it sounds yummy!!!

Have you made anything else from that cookbook?
