Chocolat & Chocolate, Chili and Cinnamon Cupcakes

I really love the movie Chocolat, the one with Johnny Depp and Juliet Binoche. It doesn't hurt that the film has great actors like Dame Judi Dench, Alfred Molina and Leslie Caron. The setting is a gorgeous little french village and gobs and gobs of chocolate. I usually make a huge mug of hot chocolate, sprinkled with chili powder and topped with whipped cream, then I snuggle up on the sofa and watch it with great delight.

If you are in the mood for a little something sweeter and cupcake shaped, why not try the recipe at Not Quite Nigella's blog. She's done an interesting twist on Mexican chocolate that sounds delightful.

What's your favorite chocolate?

When I was a kid,I used to raid the pantry for my mom's baker's chocolate.
I know it's not sweet,but I lved it.

Clearly I am among friends, because dark dark chocolate as well as Mexican hot cocoa are two of my faves. I love most flavored chocolates. Raspberry and chocolate are like secret lovers. I would add that mint and chocolate might be soul mates.

Thanks for the link Kimberly Ann! My favourite chocolates are ones that are sold at a department store here called David Jones. But my favourite mass produced chocolate has to be Lindor balls! :)

I love bittersweet chocolate. And I love Chocolat. One of the few times when I liked the movie better than the book because the movie ended the way the book should have.
